Welcome to the homepage of Computational Linguistics Group of University of Western Ontario. The group is led by Professor Dr. Robert E. Mercer of Department of Computer Science and has 6 Doctoral and Masters students.

scope and focus

The scope and focus of WCLinG include but not limited to

  • Ontological information extraction
  • Tabular information retrieval and ontology development
  • Discourse relation extraction
  • Text summarization
  • Textual link establishment
  • Textual noise reduction and semantic relation extraction

from biomedical texts using computational linguistics, natural language processing and information retrieval.
